Requested wedding photos...

Image
One of my blog followers asked for a few more pictures from my brother's recent wedding. I only have a few. They were taken by my husband, Josh. He was mostly the video person so he didn't take many photos :-)  Bride and Flower Girls  My funny Jubilee was such a ham for the camera that day :-)  Wedding Party  My Dad (best man) holding my cousin's daughter, and my daughter (2nd cousins)  Hubby and I with the Bride and Groom.  And again, my curly headed, Jubilee :-) As time has gone on, my family has become more and more amazing at pulling-off a wedding. Everything keeps getting better. The planning, the decor, the loveliness!!! Even photography gets better with all its new trends, ever updating and becoming more awesome. Unfortunately, that's all the photos I have. Hope you enjoy!

3rd Leggett Married!

Image
Leggett, that would be my maiden name, just in case y'all didn't know. My brother Micah was the 3rd to get married, just 2 weeks ago. Now my Mom only has 6 more to go... lol!  Months before the wedding, on the joyous day of going to pick out bridesmaids dresses I was invited along, and was largely pregnant with baby #2. It was quite the car ride (ahem, van ride) with 4 expectant ladies and one who was sick a couple of times. Oh boy! Anyway... we'd gone to David's Bridal to seek out bridesmaids dresses. Beckah (the bride to be) had already found her dress, and it was lovely! Now all we needed was to choose dresses for the attendants. There were 4 of them and everyone had their own opinion. They searched for something fairly modest. They'd found one that was pretty decent. Beckah didn't know if she should send Micah a picture to see if he liked the dresses or just buy them... I said to her, "You know, its probably the most modest thing you're going to f...

Bell's Wedding Wear

Image
In the beginning I found an amazing looking pattern and showed it to my sister who was playing with the idea of making her own wedding dress (with my help of course). She loved the pattern and so we ordered it. We also decided that the bridesmaids (Anna and I) would use the same patten but change the style a bit and make ours shorter. This would he a bit tricky since the pattern only came in one size and it was the Bride's size.  The pattern showed the bride's dress having a lace overlay in the picture, and so naturally this is what we thought we were going to do for Isabel's gown. When we arrived at Joann's and Isabel saw the sparkly fabric they had she was immediately drawn to it. Our plan quickly changed and formed into a new one. The brides maids were to be decked out in RED, oh my! It didn't hit me until we had my dress mostly done that I was going to have a RED dress! I'd never had a red dress before..unless you count the one time I wore one fo...

My Wedding Dress

Image
Someone asked me to write a post on my wedding dress. First off I will say that the thought of making my own wedding dress seemed way over my head. I had no idea where to start with designing it. There were so many things you could do...lace overlay, sequins, plain white satin, colors on the dress...no that was pretty much never an option for me, but still it wasn't easy trying to pick a design, pattern, fabric... Josh had proposed 3 days before my family went on vacation to FL so mom and I planned to go looking at the mall and a dress shop to get some ideas. So one of the days out of our week there, mom and I went dress shopping. Here are some of the dresses we tried out...     Very Pretty, too big and the lace stuff was terribly stiff and annoying     This one was awesome but I didn't think I could dance in it since it wouldn't let me lift my arms  Cute, too short. See the lace overlay and the pretty ...
