Baby Swim Onsie

Image
This is the second swimsuit I've made for my daughter Jubilee. It is a sleeveless onsie with snaps at the crotch for easy changing. Found the fishy print and had to snag it! So cute!!!    I love this shot! Little baby bottom and toes! Awww!!!! <3 <3 <3 Jubilee with her Aunt Amy :-)

For the Moms

Modest Nursing Suit I have been waiting a long time to announce this new design and I'm proud to announce that its finally here! This past February my family and I were going to a water park and I needed something to swim in that would allow me to nurse baby girl who was at the time 4mo old. It took me 3 failed attempts and finally success on the 4th try! The suit consists of two separate pieces. The top has a nursing panel with elastic at the under bust and an under layer that can be pulled down to nurse baby. It was made extra long with scrunch ties in the sides to give it a rippling effect. The idea behind this was that it would hide my left over baby belly. It worked really well! I was so pleased!  The bottoms are one piece, skirt and pants together on a 3/4 inch elastic waist band. Great for easy on and off. The suit is fashionable, modest, and you can feed baby in it! I have made 3 so far, two for me, and one for a lady who is doing the review! Caroline at...

Ah, the love of pillows <3 My little daughter Jubilee loves her pillow. She's been sleeping with one since about 4 months. Her daddy had rocked her to sleep and when he went to lay her down he thought she'd be better supported with a small pillow and sleep better. She took to it right away. I recently decided that she needed her own pillow case, a pretty one. So I went to my fabric bins and searched for the strawberry shortcake fabric I'd bought several years ago...before I even met her daddy :-) My room was decorated in Strawberry Shortcake when I was a girl, and I've kept all the decor. At some point she'll have her own room and I'll get to decorate it up! :-)    Learning at an early age... Jubilee had been very contentedly playing at my feet and I figured she'd be happy sitting in my lap and not be into everything. She did really well and was very interested in what I was doing.  Baby girl loves her pillow <3

Mom's Boat Apron

Image
My parent's are the new owners of a house boat and my dear mother did not have an apron for the boat. We decided she needed one, especially since she cooks all the time.  This is a combination of one I'd previously made and something I saw on Etsy that inspired the pocket. It was a quick project that was a lot of fun!   Forgot to iron it...   Cute pocket!! Nice long sashes to tie into a bow :-)

First time a Bridesmaid!

I was asked to be a bridesmaid for the first time ever this spring. I made my own dress so I'm posting pictures of it here....   My dress form came in handy :-)   Close up of the bow   Fun photo with the Bride and Bridesmaids   Swing Dancing with my Hubby <3 Cute photo I took of the Newly Wed's table :-)

Maternity Suit, Scrunch Style

Image
Maternity Suit, Scrunch Style I would have to say that this was my favorite maternity suit :-) I was (I thought) over due with my daughter, Jubilee (turns out she was on time, we'd just miscalculated her due date) Here I was waiting on baby and trying to find things to keep me busy! I'd had this idea for a swimsuit that I wanted to try and there was no time like the present! So, less than a week before baby girl was born I started playing with this. It was a success on my very first try!!! How awesome is that?!?! I went to the YMCA with my sister to try it out....and....I LOVED it! This top that was based off one of my maternity t-shirts was tighter than my shirt, and had scrunch-ties in the sides. This gave a great rippling effect! The top was snug to me (which showed the cute baby belly so well) so it didn't move when I got in and out of the water. It didn't move around when swimming, it stayed put. I felt so comfortable and secure in this new suit, it rather f...

Empire Maternity Suit

Image
Oops...I meant to post this before the Under Armor Style! Oh well... The Empire Maternity Swimsuit We found we were expecting in February of 2011, this meant I'd have a rather round middle by the summer time. Of course I was thinking ahead to making me a suit. I've made swimwear for 6-7 years now but had never made a maternity suit. I had ideas...ones that didn't look anything like what my mom wore when expecting some of my younger siblings though lol! Suffice it to say, my first plan didn't work out so well. It turned into this. My regular suit top worked well to a certain point...just below the bust. I liked the idea of a solid band at the under bust and then added a gathered/pleated skirt, a belly skirt, much like the skirt in the Original Style Suit . The bottoms were a little complicated. All one piece, the pants, skirt and belly band, all together. They are extremely comfortable and I loved them!! This first suit didn't have quite enough room to...
